AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN AMENDING THE
PROVISIONS GOVERNING THE PLANNING COMMISSION IN
AND FOR THE CITY OF TUSTIN, AND REPEALING
ORDINANCES NOS. 49 and 104 OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN
The City CounCil of the City of Tustin does ordain as
follows:
SeCtiOn 1. Under and by virtue of the authority con-
ferred upon the City Council of the City of TUstin by the provisions
of Article 2, Chapter l, Title 7 of the Government Code of the State
of California, the Planning Commission in gnd for the Cityof Tustin
is hereby created and reorganized to consist of seven (7) members,
two (2) of which may be ex-officio members, and if ex-officio mem-
bers are appointed they shall be city officers and may include
legislative officers of the City as well as administrative or
appointive officers. All seven (7) members of the Commission,
including ex-officio members, shall have the right to vote on all
matters to be determined by the Planning Commission.
The City Council of the City~of Tustin may, from time
to time, by resolution, appoint such city officers or employees
or members of the Council to act as advisory members to th~ Planning
Commission, but said advisory members shali have no vote.
Section 2. Members of the City Planning Commission
shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the approval of the City
'CounciI, and shall serve for a term of four (4) years, excepting
for first appointees.
Section 5. The first term of the regular members of
the Planning Commission shall be as follows: Two of the five
members shall be appointed to office for four years; one for three
years, one for two years, and one for one year.
Section 4. The term of an ex-officio or advisory
member shall correspond to his official tenure.
Section 5. Any appointee member of the City Planning
Commission may be removed by either of the following: (a) The
Mayor, subject to the approval of the City Council; (b) Majority
vote of the City Council. Should any question arise concerning
the appointment, terms of office and removal of members of the
Planning Commission of the .Cityof Tustin, the provisions of
Article 3, Chapter I of Title 7 of the Government Code shall
govern.
Section 6. The Planning Commision shall meet
at such times and places as hereafter, from time to time,
determined to be necessary or convenient. The compensation
of the Planning Commissioners, including regular and ex-
officio members, shall be as hereafter determined, from time
to time, by the City Council of the City of Tustin.
SeOtion ~.. The Planning Commission of the City
of Tustin shall be, and hereby is declared to be regulated by
the provisions of Chapter 3, Title 7 of the Government Code,
and as said provisions of the State law are determined from
time to time, and such amendments that are duly and lawfully adopted
by the State of California shall be deemed to be adopted as a part
of the provisions governing the Planning Commission of the City
of Tustin.
Section 8. Ordinances No. 49 and Mo. 104 of the
City of Tustin are hereby repealed, and made of no f~ce and
effect.
SectionS. The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and
the City Clerk shall attest thereto, and certify to the passage of
this Ordinance, and shall cause the same to be published once in
the Tustin News, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed,
published and circulated ~n the City of Tustin; and said Ordinance
shall take effect thirty (30) days from its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City
of Tustin, at a regular mee~ting held on the 21st day of May, 1962.

certify that the whole number of the members of the City Council
of the City of Tustin is five; that the above and foregoing Or-
dinance was duly and regularly introduced and read at the regular
meeting of the City Council held on the 7th day of May, 1962, and
was given its second reading and duly passed and adopted at a
regular meeting held on the 21st day of May, 1962, by the follow-
ing vote:
