ORDINANCE NO. 170
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED AS "MCFADDEN-
NEWPORT ANNEXATION" TO THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN:
WHEREAS, on January 15, 1962, the Council of the City
of Tustin did pass and adopt Resolution No. 580, declaring that
proceedings had been initiated by the City Council of the City of
Tustin, California, to annex to said City certain uninhabited
territory described there~n and designated as McFADDEN-NEWPORT
ANNEXATION" to the City of Tustin, and giving notice of the
proposed annexation, and said Resolution described the boundaries
of the territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS~ said Resolution No.=580 did contain a notice
of the day, hour and place where and when the Council of the
City of Tustin would hear protests made by any person owning
real property within the territory proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, the Boundary C6mmission of the County of
Orange, State of California, did, in session duly asaembled,
approve the proposed annexation boundaries of~said annexation;
and
WHEREAS, On March 5 , 1962, at the ~our of ?:30 P.M.,
in the Council Chambers, in the City H~ll, 145 West Third Street,
City of Tustin, County of Orange,'State of CalifOrnia, said time

and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution
No, 580 for hearing protests'to the said annexation, the City
Council did hear and pass upon all protests m~de to the proposed
annexation, and did determine that protests had not been made
by the owners of one-~aif of the value of the privately owned
territory proposed to be annexed, as shown on the last equalized
assessment roll,nor by Dablic owners of one-half of the value
of the publicly owned territory proposed to be annexed, as
determined by said legislative body, and
WHEREAS, said territory is contiguous to the City of
Tustin, and is uninhabited territory in the County of Orange; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tustin
does hereby approve the annexation of the territory hereinaf~er
described to the City of Tustin, and does hereby further ordain
that the said territory be, and the same hereby is annexed to
the City of Tustin.
That said territory, the annexation of which the
City of Tustin has herein approved, is all that territory situated
in the County of Orange, State of California, more particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at an angle point in the boundary line of the
SOUTH TUSTIN AVENUE ANNEXATION as described in Ordinance
No. 136, passed and adopted by the City Council of Tustin
on July 5, 1960, said angle point bears S. 89 30'59"~ E.
358.6 feet from the northwest corner of the southwest one
quarter (1/4) of Lot '~M~ as shown on a map of "Stafford
"recorded in Book 2, cages 618 and 619,
and Tustin Tract, _
Miscellaneous RecOrdsof Los Angeles County, California,
said northwest corner also being an angle point in the
boundary line of said SOUTH TUSTIN AVENUE ANNEXATION.

Thence, departing from said city boundary, S. 89 30'59"
E. along the north line of the southwest one quarter
(1/4) of said Lot "M", a distance of 414.26 feet to the
west line of Tract No. 4250, as shown on a map thereof
recorded in Book 151, pages 15 and 16.of Miscellaneous
Maps, Records of Orange County, California;
Thence, N. 0043'47'' E. along the west line of said Tract
No. 4250, a distance of 540°54 feet to the northwest corner
of said Tract No. 4250;

Thence S. 9 9'33'~ E. along the north line of said Tract
No. 4250, a distance of 805.95 feet to the northeast corner
of said Tract No. 4250;
Thence, S. 0°44'40~: W. along the east line of said Tract
No. 4250, and the southerly prolongation'thereof, a distance
of 1,116.92 feet to a line parallel to and 40 feet southerly
of, as measured at right angles~to, the surveyed centerline
of McFadden Street;

easterly prolongation thereof, a distance of 640.72 feet
to a line parallel to and 50 feet southeasterly of, as
measured at right angles to, the surveyed centerline of
Newport Avenue, sixty feet wide;

of 60.89 feet to the northeast line of the southwest one
half (1/2) of Lot 48 of Plot No. 1, Ranchos Santiago De
Santa Aria and San Joaquin as shown on a map thereof re-
corded in Book 5, Page ? of Miscellaneous Records of Los
Angeles County, California, also shown on Map of Irvine's

Subdivision, recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 1, Page 88
records of Orange County, California;
Thence, S. 49°21'28~ E. along said northeast line, a
distance of 1270.0 feet to the easterly corner of said
southwest one-half (t/2) of Lot 48;
said southwest one-half--. a disSance of 620.0 feet
to a line parallel to and 40 feet northeasterly of, as
measured at right angles to, the surveyed centerline of
Walnut Avenue, sixty feet wide;
Thence, N. 49°21'28~ W. along said parallel line and
northwesterly prolongation thereof, a distance of
1,370.0 feet to a line parallel to and 50 feet north-
westerly of, as measured at right angles to, the sur-
veyed centerline of Newport Avenue, sixty feet wide;
Thence, S. 40°38'32" W. along said parallel line, a
distance of 930.54 feet to a point in the boundary
line of said SOUTH TUSTIN AVENUE ANNEXATION;
Thence, westerly and northerly following along the
boundary line of said SOUTH TUSTIN AVENUE ANNEXATION
the following courses and distances;
Thence, N. 51o00'00'' W., 447.70 feet to angle point
in said boundary;
Thence, N. 89°41'32~ W., 76.52 feet to angle point
in said' boundary;
Thence, N. 1 09'15~ E., 1805.0 feet to angle point
in said boundary;

Thence, N. 89 41'32~ W. 411.8 feet to angle point
in said boundary;
Thence, N. 0°41'01~' E., 580.54 feet to angle point
in said boundary, and the point of beginning.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance
and shall cause the same to be ~published once within fifteen days
after its adoption in the Tustin News, a weekly newspaper of
general circulation, printed, published and circulated in the
City of Tustin, and said Ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force immediately from and after its final adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Tustin, at a regular meeting thereon held on the 19th day of March, 1962.

duly passed and adopted at a regular meeting held on the 19th
day of March, 1~62, by the following vote:
