ORDINANCE NO. 166
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED AS "PANNELL
ANNEXATION" TO THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUS~TN:
WHEREAS, on December ].8, 1962, the Council of the City
of Tustin did pass and adopt Resolution No. ~76, declaring that
proceedings had been initiated by the City Council 0f the City of
Tustin, California, to annex to said City certain uninhabited
territory described therein and designated as ~PANNELL ANNEF~T!ON~
and giving notice of the proposed annexation, and said Resolution
described the boundaries of the territory proposedto be annexed;
and
WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 576 did contain a notice
of the day, hour and place when and where the Council of the City of
Tustin would hear orotests made by any person owning real property
within the territory proposed to be annexed, the time of said hear-
ing being not less than forty (40) nor more than sixty (60) days
from the date of passage of said Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the Boundary Commission of the County of Orange,
State of California, did, in session duly assembled, approve the
proposed annexation boundaries of said annexation; and
WHEREAS, on February 5, 1962, at the hour of 7:30
in the Council Chambers, in the City Hall, 145 West Third Street,
City of Tustin, California, County of Orange, State of California,
said time and place being the day, hour and place fixed in said
Resolution No. 576 for hearing protests to the said annexation,
the City Council did hear end pass upon all protests made to the
proposed annexation, and did determine that protests had not
been made by the~owners of one-~a!f of the value of the privately
owned territory proposed to be annexed,.as shown on the last
equalized assessment roll, nor by public owners of one-ha!f of
the value of the p~blicly owned territory proposed to be annexed,
as determined by said legislative body, and

WHEREAS, said. territory is contiguous to the
City of Tustin, and is uninhabited territory in the County
of Orange; and
· NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City
of Tustin does hereby apprQve the annexation of the
territory hereinafter described to the City of Tustin,
and does hereby further ordain that the said territory
be, and the same hereby is annexed to the~City of Tustin.
That said territory, the annexation of which
the City of Tustin has herein approved, is all that
territory situated in the County of Orange, State of
California, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at.an angle point in the South Tustin
Avenue Annexation to the City of Tustin, as
per Ordinance No. 136, passed and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Tustin, July 5,
1960, said angle point being in the southeasterly
line of Lot 64, Block 11, as shown oh a map
of Irvine's Subdivision, recorded in Book 1,
page 88, Miscellaneous Maos, Records of
Orange Countye Cslifornia, said angle point
bearing N. 40 00' E. 310 feet from the most
southerly corner of said Lot 64 (said southerly
corner also being a point in the center line
of the Santa Fe Railroad 100 foot right Of way);

Thence, from said point of beginning N. 40 oo' E.,
along said southeasterly line of Lot 64, a
distance of 285.00 feet to the most easterly
corner of ].and conveyed by Leila James Wh~a+~on,
et a! to ClarencelOrin Pannell, by deed re-
corded in Book 1150, page 99 of Official Records
of Orange County, California;

Thence, N. 50 00' W. along a line parallel to
the said southwesterly line of Lot 64 on Block
11, and its northwesterly prolongation a
distance of 1350.00 feet more or less to boundary
line of said South Tustin Avenue Annexation,
said boundary also being northwesterly right
of way lineof Newport Avenue 60 feet wide;
Thence, S. 40°00' W. along said South Tustin
Avenue Annexation boundary line 285 feet to
an~!e p. int in said boundary line; thence, S.
50 00' E. along said annexation boundary
line, 13~0.00 feet more or ].ess to 'point of
beginning.
The City Clerk shall cert~ify to the adoption of
this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published
once within fifteen days after its adoption in the Tustin
News, a weekly newspaper of general circulation, printed, published
and circulated in the City of Tustin, and said Ordinance shall
take effect and be in full force immediately from and after its
final adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Tustin, at a regular meeting thereon held on the 19th day of February, 1962.

Council of the City of Tustin, California, does hereby certify
that the whole number of the members of the City Council of the
City of Tustin is five; that the above and foregoing Ordinance was
duly and regularly introduced and read at the regular meeting ~
the City Council held on the 5th day of February, 1962, and was
given its second reading and duly passed and adopted at a
regular meeting held on the 19th day of February, 1962, by
the fg!lowing vote:
