HomeMy WebLinkAboutRDA MINUTES 1997 10 20 MINUTES REGULAR MEETING OF THE TUSTIN COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA OCTOBER 20, 1997 CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chair Thomas at 8:58 p.m. at the Council Chambers, 300 Centennial Way, Tustin, California. ROLL CALL Members Present: Jeffery M. Thomas, Chair Thomas R. Martin Pastucha, Field Services Manager Valerie Crabill, Chief Deputy City Clerk Dave Gottlieb, Senior Project Manager Bettie Correa, Senior Personnel Analyst Approximately 25 in the audience REGULAR BUSINESS (ITEMS 1 THROUGH 3) 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - OCTOBER 6, 1997 REGULAR MEETING It was moved by Potts, seconded by Worley, to approve the Redevelopment Agency Minutes of October 6, 1997. Motion carried 5-0. 2. APPROVAL OF DEMANDS It was moved by Potts, seconded by Worley, to approve Demands in the amount of $931,619.39. Motion carried 5-0. 380-10 3. PUBLIC HEARING: RESOLUTION OF NECESSITY TO ACQUIRE REAL PROPERTY AT 191-195 MAIN STREET BY EMINENT DOMAIN Christine Shingleton, Assistant Executive Director, reported that on May 22, 1997, the Agency made an offer to June Perfit, the property owner, to purchase property located at 191-195 Main Street; the amount of the offer was equal to the fair market appraisal of the property; to date, the property owner had not responded to the offer; public interest and necessity required acquisition of the subject property by eminent domain; and the property owner had been notified that.the issue had been agendized. Chair Thomas opened the Public Hearing at 9:00 p.m. There were no speakers on the subject and the Public Hearing was closed. It was moved by'Saltarelli, seconded by Worley, to adopt the' following Resolution No. RDA 97-6: RESOLUTION NO. RDA. 97-6 - A RESOLUTION OF THE TUSTIN. COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENTAGENCY OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE ACQUISITION BY EMINENT DOMAIN OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE TOWN CENTER REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT FOR PUBLIC USE AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING CONDEMNATION 490-10 Motion carried 5-0. Page 2, 10-20-97 OTHER BUSINESS - None CLOSED SESSION - None ADJOURNMENT Chair Thomas adjourned the meeting at 9:01 p.m. The next regular meeting of the Redevelopment Agency was scheduled for Monday, November 3, 1997, at 7:00 ~-~p.m. in the Council Chambers at 300 Centennial Way.
