RELEASE OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL BOND FOR TRACT 14410 (El Dorado)
SUMMARY '
The 'Public Works Department has determined that a traffic signal is not needed at the
intersection of Pioneer Road and Peters Canyon Road, and is recommending the release of a.
traffic signal bond for Tract No. 14410.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council release Bond No. 41983 l S in the amount of $50,000.00 for a
traffic signal at Pioneer Road/Peters Canyon Road.
FISCAL IMPACT
None.
BACKGROUND
The subject tract is located at the northwest corner of' Pioneer Road and Peters Canyon Road as shown
on the attached exhibit.
As a condition of approval for the E1 Dorado development, the applicant (Lewis Homes of California)
was required to post a bond for a future traffic signal at the intersection of Pioneer Road/Peters Canyon
Road. The E1 Dorado Tract is complete and all other subdivision bonds and monumentation bonds
have been released.
DISCUSSION
The Public Works Department has monitored traffic conditions at this location as development in the
area has progressed. The communities along Pioneer Road contributing traffic to this location are
nearly completed, and it has been determined that a traffic signal is not warranted at this location.
Release of this bond will release the applicant's obligation for traffic signal improvements at this
location.
