HUSTON PERSONNEL SERVICES LEAVE OF ABSENCE EXTENSION- ARTHUR LARRY DAVIS Upon the recommendation of the City Manager, authorize extension of a leave of absence for Arthur Larry Davis exceeding 30 days. RECOMMENDATION' That the City Council authorize extension of a leave of absence be granted to A. Larry Davis for medical reasons due to an off-the-job injury until March 1, 2000 or until he is fully released by his doctor to return to work. FISCAL IMPACT: Since rvlr. Davis has exhausted 90 days of medical leave and is not eligible for benefits at this time, the cost to the City is not significant. The Field Services Division has filled Mr. Davis'. position to allow the department to be more productive. BACKGROUND: 'On March 15, 1999, the Council approved a non-industrial medical leave of absence and Mr. Davis was expected to return to work on December 1, 1999. Mr. Davis' disability has now been extended to March 1, 2000 with no guarantee of release at that time. Mr. Davis has requested an extension of his unpaid leave of absence to March 1, 2000.
