CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL RESOLUTION
RECOMMENDATION
The council adopt Resolution No. 00-12 to authorize the training of Tustin Motorcycle Officers
at the California Highway Patrol Academy in Sacramento.
FISCAL IMPACT
None. All travel and expenses are reimbursable under POST plan for IV.
BACKGROUND
All local agencies who wish to have their motorcycle officers trained at the California Highway
Patrol Academy in Sacramento are required to have a current resolution adopted by their
individual cities. We are going to send one motor officer to the training in March of 2000. This
resolution fulfills the mandatory requirements as outlined by the California Highway Patrol.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN AUTHORIZING AGREEMENTS BETVVEEN THE
POLICE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN AND THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF CALIFORNIA
HIGHWAY PATROL
WHEREAS the State of California, Department of California Highway Patrol
requires written training agreements from any agency participating in training
programs at their Academy; and
WHEREAS the Police Department of the City of Tustin desires from time to
time to participate in certain training programs sponsored and administered by the
Department of California Highway Patrol,
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council that the Chief of Police
is hereby authorized and directed to sign such training agreements.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tustin at a regular
meeting held on the 22nd day of February 2000.
