HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION PREPARATION OF THE ENGINEER'S REPORT FOR THE TUSTIN LANDSCAPE AND LIGHTING DISTRICT LEVY OF ANNUAL ASSESSMENTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000-20001 SUMMARY I The attached Resolution No. 00-15 orders the preparation of the Engineer's Report for the Tustin Landscape and Lighting District Levy of Annual Assessments for Fiscal Year 2000-2001. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 00-15, which orders the preparation of the Engineer's Report for the Tustin Landscape and Lighting District Levy of Annual Assessments for Fiscal Year 2000-2001. FISCAL IMPACT None. All City costs will be recouped through the levy of the annual assessments for the District. DISCUSSION This action will be the initial phase of the process to levy annual assessments for Fiscal Year 2000-2001 for the Tustin Landscape and Lighting District and orders the preparation of the Engineer's Report. The Engineer's Report wilt consider and incorporate applicable provisions of Proposition 218. The District provides funding for the maintenance of the perimeter landscaping on the arterial highways within the Tustin Ranch area and for the operation and maintenance of the street lighting on the public streets within the Tustin Ranch area. A copy of the Landscape and Lighting District Assessment Diagram is attached for reference. Three additional City Council actions will be required as the process proceeds: · First, the adoption of a resolution approving the Engineer's Report which is tentatively scheduled for May 1,2000. Second, the adoption of a resolution declaring the City Council's intention to provide an annual levy of assessment which is also tentatively scheduled for May 1, 2000. This resolution will set the date for a public hearing which is tentatively scheduled for June 19, 2000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tustin that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer is hereby ordered to prepare and file, through Harris and Associates the Engineer's Report for the Tustin Landscape and Lighting District'Levy of Annual Assessments for Fiscal Year 2000- 2001. .
