HomeMy WebLinkAboutPOWERPOINT PRESENTATION-PARKING CODE UPDATEPARKING CG7E UPDATE Code Amendment 2012 -03 (Ordinance No. 1418) Code Amendment 2012 -04 (Ordinance No. 1425) City Council Meeting January 15, 2013 Background Code Amendment (CA) 2012 -03 and Code Amendment (CA) 2012- 04 are proposed amendments to Part 6 (Off- street Parking) of the Tustin City Code CA 2012 -03 was initiated by the City to update the overall parking code CA 2012 -04 was initiated by Joseph Haikal (Kiddie Academy) as part of request for a new daycare center at 14501 Newport Ave. On December 11, 2012, the Planning Commission adopted Resolution Nos. 4212 and 4213, recommending that the City Council approve Code Amendment 2012 -03 (Ordinance No. 1418) and Code Amendment 2012 -04 (Ordinance No. 1425), amending the parking code. Code Amendment 2012 -03 The proposed text amendments include: Clarifying maintenance requirements; Establishing parking requirements for new land uses never envisioned; Establishing parking criteria for large commercial centers; Combining parking design standards for residential and non - residential uses; Addressing loading spaces; Updating figures; and, Adding definitions. Maintenance Requirements The proposed amendment clarifies and simplifies parking lot maintenance requirements. General maintenance and restriping would not require a permit.
