The residential character of the neighborhood is similar to nearby Tustin residential neighborhoods. Accomplish Tustin General Plan Land Use goals to: • Annex certain areas in North Tustin to establish more logical City boundaries; and, • Pursue opportunities for greater efficiency in service delivery, and maintenance of quality of life for Tustin residents. • Accomplish a long-term City and County of Orange (LAFCO) goal for the area to be incorporated into the City, connecting communities that are separated only by jurisdictional lines. • Establish a logical City boundary • Provides Brittany Woods' neighborhood citizens a voice in Tustin's future and increased local government representation. r • Increase the City's population and increase the City's ability to obtain grant funding Work Program for 2013 2nd Unit Ordinance For Old Town Tustin Issues: Following the appeal process for 520Pacific Street, community consensus that existing second units should be allowed in Old Town. Deed restrictions established under existing code for approved "Guest House" applications often ignored, or later r converted to an illegal unit. Work Program for 2013 4 2ndUnit Ordinance For Old Town Tustin (Cont.) • Proposed Ordinance to allow 2nd units on all residential lots in Old Town (regardless of size) . Limited to 50 percent of the existing home's floor area but not to exceed 1,200 square feet, whichever is less. or One garage parking space per one bedroom; two garage spaces per two bedroom or greater. Can be rented and may have kitchen. Must pay park, school, and other applicable impact fees related to the proposed new dwelling unit. Existing Guest House regulations to be repealed.
