DECLAtL4IION OF SURPLUS EQUIPMENT
SUMMARY
Declare equipment detailed in report as surplus in accordance with Section 1626 of the Tustin City Code
and authorize their sale at public auction.
RECOMMENDATION
That the City Council declare the equipmen{ detailed in the attached report as surplus and not required
for public use, in accordance with the Tustin City Code, Section 1626 and authorize the Public Works
Department to sell the equipment at public auction.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total proceeds received fi'om the sale of the surplused equipment is to be credited to the City's
general fund.
DISCUSSION
Section 1626a(2) of the Tustin City Code, requires the purchasing agent to prepare a wrinen estimate of
value for any surplus items not usable by the City or not required for public use. The attached report of
surplus City equipment to be sold at public auction specifies the estimated value of each item. The code
further requires that the City Council must find that these surplus items are not required for public use.
It is requested that the City Council authorize the Public Works Department to sell the various vehicular
and related equipment at the next available public auction. The vehicles and related equipment were
replaced as part of the normal rotation and replacement of equipment program.
