FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS RAWLINGS RESERVOIR
BOOSTER PUMP STATION (PROJECT NO. 6115)
SUMMARY
This action consists of the acceptance of work and authorization of recordation of the Notice of
completion for the Rawlings Reservoir Booster Pump Station (Project No. 6115).
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Tustin City Council adopt Resolution No. 00-40 accepting said work
and authorizing the recordation of the Notice of Completion and direct the City Clerk to:
1. Release the Labor and Materials Bond not sooner than thirty-five (35) days after the date
of recordation of the Notice of Completion; and
2. Release of Faithful Performance Bond not sooner than one year after the date of
recordation of the Notice of Completion; and
Assuming no claims or stop payment notices are filed, it is further-recommended that the City
authorize payment of the retention amount thirty-five days after the date of recordation of the
Notice of Completion.
The amount of retention currently being held equals $37,963.98. This amount together with
previous 'payments of $652,120.49 represents 100% of the final contract cost.
FISCAL IMPACT
The final cost of the contract is $690,084.47. The 1999/00 budget allocated a total of $896,600
for this project, which also includes preliminary design, final design, and construction phase
services.
BACKGROUND
This project consisted of the construction of a new water booster pump station located at the
Rawlings Reservoir site. The project includes piping, pumps, switch gear, controls, block
building, and an emergency generator. This pump station will supply an additional source of
water to the higher elevation zones of the City's system. The station will provide additional water
for fire fighting and the ability to transfer lower cost groundwater to the higher elevation zones.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE WORK OF IMPROVEMENT AND
AUTHORIZING RECORDATION OF NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR
RAWLINGS RESERVOIR BOOSTER PUMP STATION (PROJECT NO. 6115)
WHEREAS, a Schueler Engineering Corporation having a contract with the City
Council to provide the hereinafter described pUblic work and improvement; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has duly certified to the completion of said public
improvements hereinafter mentioned in a manner satisfactory to the CiLv Council of the City
of Tustin; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said contractor has completed said public
improvement hereinafter more particularly described i accordance with the provisions of the
contract documents and the Notice of Completion, and acceptance of said public work and
improvement should be filed and payment of the balance due said contract authorized in
accordance with the contract documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tustin
that said public work and improvement is found to be complete, and the same is hereby
accepted. Said public work and improvement Js more particularly described as fcllows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Ci~~ Engineer of the City of Tustin is
hereby authorized to execute and file a Notice of Completion for the acceptance of said- public
works and improvement described herein as required by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the CiD' Council of the City of
Tustin held on the 5th day of June 2000.
