RECOMMENDATION' Cast ballots to determine appointments for the Planning Commission and Cultural Resources Advisory Committee. BACKGROUND: On October 2, 2000, at 5:30 p.m., the City Council will conduct interviews to fill Commission/Committee vacancies. The following candidates have submitted their applications and are seeking appointment to the Planning Commission and Cultural Resources Advisory Committee: Planning Commission (1 vacancy for a term expiring July 16, 2001): John Beringer, Betty Halderman, Andrew Hamilton, Ginny Hovland, Bernard Miller, Aaron Morris, Elizabeth Nadon, and Jon Spencer. Beringer Jr. LPCS Professional History Mr. Beringer is Chief Executive Officer and Principal Claims Professional for Beringer & Associates, Inc.. He is also its sole employee for providing Claims and Litigation Management services as well as Mediation and Consulting services. Prior to his'engagement with Beringer & Associates, Inc. he was employed by Specialty Risk Services to provide the services of case management of a significant pending including class action lawsuits, developer construction defect eases, trade dress and various employment torts; supervision of litigation for others; negotiation and analysis of coverage for Hartford Insurance Company and their clients in both the self insured and insurance contract venues including coverage's derived fi-om primary and excess policies; Errors and Omissions, General Liability, Tax Practitioners and professional services contracts.
