HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUBJECT: DESTRUCTION OF FILES SUMMARY The Engineering Division of the Public Works Department has received approval from the City Attorney to destroy files that are no longer essential to the Division. The destruction of the files will provide more file space for current files. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that the City Council approve Resolution No. 99-72 authorizing the destruction of files as noted on the attached lists. FISCAL IMPACT There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. DISCUSSION The files listed for destruction are no longer essential to the Engineering Division and will provide much-needed file space for current files. Staff has determined that the identified files are a minimum of three years old and include copies of resolutions, budget information, and City Council and Plmming Commission Minutes. State of California Code Sections 34090, et. Sig., requires Council authorization for destruction of records. Tim D. California. hereby approves the immediate destruction of the records, documents and papers listed on the attachment hereto; PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Tustin held on the 4th day of October 1999.
