AND[YIX'ING'-THE.,RATZnOF TAXATION FOR THE CURRENT YliAR 1933-1934, DESIGNATING THE NUMBER OF CENTS ON EACH $100.00 ON THE WHOLE'OF THE TAX- ABLE PROPERTY OF SAID CITY AS SET BY THE COUNTY ASSESSOR OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, AND EQUALIZED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF SAID COUNTY, AND HEREBY LEVIED UPON THE ',1HOLE OF THE ''AXABLR PROPERTY OF SAID CITY. The Board of Trustees and City Council of the City of Tustin, California, do ordain as follows, to -wit: That Whereas, the City of Tustin, California, did on the 30th day of January, 1928, by Ordinance elect and determine to avail itself of the provisions of the Act of the 27th day of March, 1895, as contained in the Statutes of 1895, page 219, Chapter 182, and as subsequently amended, relative to the assessment and collection bf taxes for Municipal Corporations, and did in accordance therewith on or about said date file with the County Auditor of Orange County, California, a certified copy of said Ordinance, being Ordinance No. 7 of said City of Tustin, as provided by law; And Whereas" the said Board of Trustees and City Council of the City of Tustin, California, desires to continue the collection of its taxes in the manner provided in said Ordinance No. 7; And Whereas, the County Auditor of the County of Orange, State of California, on or about the let day of August, 1932, filed his statement in writing with the City Clerk and -1- 10 Board of Trustees of the City 'of Tustin, California, showing the total value of all property within the corporate limits of the said City for the year 1933-1934, as equalized and collected by the Board of Snpervisors of orange County, California, abd fixed the sum as shown-bfy the assessment rolls for said year at _$4�83,310. 00 'j, exclusive of operative property; and whereas the amount of money ascertained and fixed as necessary to be raised by taxation, to carry on the. various departments of the City of Tustin, and to pay the bonded indebtedness falling die' for the current year 1933-1934, is the fixed sum of $6621.'35 and whereas, said sum is to be apportioned among the various departments of said City of Tustin, and placed in the general and special funds -to pay current mAnicipal expenses on the assessed, value of all the real and personal property within such municipal- ity over and above the several sums to be raised as provided by law. SECTION 1. That the total valuation of the taxable property of the City of Tustin, exclusive of operative property, to -wit: $463,310.00, shall be used as a basis for the levy Of the taxes of the City of Austin, California, at the same time and In the same manner County levies are made and collected. SECTION 2. That the rate of taxation for the municipal purposes and to pay the bonded indebtedness and interest of the City of Tustin, California, for the currect year 1933-1934 is hereby fixed at $o.37 , on the taxable property of said City, and that said amount of 96621.35 in the aggregate, and the rate sum of 01.37, on each $100.00 of the taxable property of said City is hereby levied upon all the taxable property of said City as ascertained by the County Assessor and equalized by the Board of Sup i ervisors of orange County, California, as afore- said, and ','vhich said rate so fixed shall be apportioned among special funds to pay current expenses, bonded indebtedness, -2- and interest and other indebtedness of said City falling due for the current fiscal year 1933-1934, as follows, to -wit: For the General Fund $1.00 on each 8100.00 of the taxable property of said City. For the Municipal Improvement Bonds of 1930 bonded Indebtedness Fund, $0.37 on each $100.00 of the taxable property of said City. SECTION 3. This ordinance is an urgency measure and is necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety of the residents of the said City of Tustin, and shall take effect immediately after its adoption and publication; the following is a statement of the facts constituting such urgency; it is required by the laws of the State of California that the City Council shall fix and determine the tax rate and make a levy thereof on or before the lest Tuesday in eiugust of each year, and in order to provide funds for the City for the current year it is necessary that said ordinance take effect immediately. SECTION 4. '.',he City Clerk is hereby instructed to submit and deliver a certified copy of this ordinance to the County Auditor of Orange County, California, on or before the let day of September, 1933 SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall cause this ordinance to be published once in "The Tustin News", a weekly newspaper, printed and circulated and published in the City of Tustin, California, and thereupon it shall immediately take effect and be in force. I, Philip C. Brooks, City Clerk of the City of Tustin, do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Trustees and City Council of the City of Tustin, held on the 7th day of August, 1933, and was finally passed at a regular meeting of said Board held on -3- 01 the 21st day of August, 1933, to -wit, more than five days after its introduction by the following vote; AYES: Councilmen: Peiper Logan Kiser NOES Councilmen; None AB&OT Councilmen Schwendeman ATTEST; (SEAL) Cp` ' . it'I Cler o he ity Of TURin, California.
