Aid ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, FIXING
A7D DET R&iINING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY ASCERTAINED TO BE
"ECESSARY TO CARRY ON THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN, FOR THE CURRENT YEAR 1931-1932, A17D FIXING THE RATE
OF TAXATION FOR THE CURR.NT YEAR 1931-1932, DESIGNATING `1"HE
NUMBER OF CENTS OB EACH 0100.00 ON THE WHOLE OF THE TAXABLE
PROPERTY OF SAID CITY AS SET BY THIS COUNTY ASSESSOR OF T_HF.
COUNTY OF ORANGE, AND EQUALIZ:D!'BY THF: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF SAID COUNTY, AND HEREBY LEVIED UPON THE 7HOLFe OF '-HE
TAXABLE PROPERTY OF SAID CITY.
The Board of Trustees and, City Council of the City of
Tustin, California, do ordain as follows, to -wit:
"'hat Whereas, the City of Tustin, California, did on
the'30th day of January, 1928, by ordinance elect and determine
to avail itself of the provisions of the Act of the 27th day
of March 1895, as contained in the statutes of 1895, page 219,
Chapter 182, and as subsequently amended, relative to the
assessment and collection of taxes for Municipal Corporations,
and did in accordance therewith on or about laid date file
with the County Auditor of orange County, California, a certi-
fied copy of said ordinance, being Ordinance No. 7 of said
City of 2'ustin, as provided by law;
And 'Whereas, the said Board of Trustees and City Council
of the City of Tustin, California, desires to continue the
collection of its taxes in the manner provided in said
Ordinance No,. 7; `
p^ And Whereas, the said Board of Trustees and City Council
of the City of 'Tustin, California, desires to continue the
collection of its taxes in the manner provided in said Ordin-
ance No. 7;
And';+hereas,the County Auditor of the County of
Orange, State of California, on or about the 1st day of
August, 1931, filed his statement in writing with the City
Clerk and Board of Trustees of the City of Tustin, Calif-
ornia, showing the total value of all property within the
corporate limits of the said City for the year 1931-1932,
as equalized and collected by the Board of Supervisors of
Orange County, California, and fixed the sum as shown by the
assessment rolls for said year at $557,300.00, exclusive of
operative property; and whereas the amount of money ascer-
tained and fixed as necessary to be r,,ised by taxation, to
carry on the various departments of the City of :'ustin, and
to pay the bonded indebtedness falling due for the current
year 1931-1932, is the fixed sum of $7,635.01, ; and whereas,
said sum is to be apportioned among the various departments of
said Cityof Tustin, and placed in the general and special
funds to pay current municipal expenses on the assessed value
of all the real and personal property within such municipality
over and above the several sums to be raised as provided by
law.
SECTIOld 1. That the total valuation of the taxable
property of the City of 'Tustin., exclusive of operative
property, to -wit; 4557,300.0 0, shall be used as a basis for
the levy of the taxes of the city of i'ustir_, California, at
the same time and in the same manner County levies are made
and collected.
SECTION 2. ghat the rate of taxation for the municipal
purposes and to pay the bonded indebtedness and interest of the
City of Tustin, California, for the current year 1931-1932 is
hereby fixed at 41,37 on the taxable property of said City,
and that said amount of W7,635.01 in the aggregate, and the
rate sum of.,1.37 , on each 4100.00 of the taxable property
of said City is hereby levied upon all the taxable property of
said City as ascertained by the County ssessor -nd equalized
by the Board of Supervisors of Orange County, California, as

aforesaid, and which,said rate so fixed shall be apportioned
among special funds to pay the current expenses, bonded
indebtedness, and interest and other indebtedness of said
City falling due for the Current fiscal year 1931-1932, as
"^ follows, to -wit:
For the General Fund 01.00 on each $100.00 of the
taxable property of said. City.
For Municipal Improvement Bonds of 1930 bonded
indebtedness Fund, "0.37 on each $100.00 of the taxable
property of said City.
SCTION 3. This Ordinance is an urgency measure and
is necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace;-,
health and safety of the residents of the said City Of 'Tustin,
and shall take effect immediately after its adoption and pub-
lication; the following is a statemen.t of the facts constitu-
ting such urgency; it is required by the laws of the State of
California that the City Council shall fix and determine the
tax rate and make a levy thereof on or before the last i'uesday
in August of each year, and in order to provide funds for the
City for the current year it is necessary that said Ordinance
take effect immediately.
SECTION 4. he City Clerk is hereby instructed to
submit and deliver a certified cony of this Ordinance to the
County Auditor of Orange County, California, on or before the
let day of September,
Sr:C^ION 5. she City Clerk shall cause this Ordinance
to be published once in the "Tustin News", a weekly newspaper,
print ed and circulated and published in the City of _'ustin,
California, and thereupon it shall immediately t=ike effect and
be in force.
I, J. R. Harbour, City Clerk of the City of i'ustin,
do hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was intoduced
at a regular meeting of the Board of 'Trustees and City Council
of the City of 'i'ustin, held on the 3rd day of August, 1931,
and was finally passed at a regular meeting of said Board
held on the 17th day of ilugust, 1931, to -wit, more than
five days after its introduction by the following vote:
AYES, Councilmen: Tiuntley, Kiser, Logan and
Schwendeman.
NOES: Councilmen: None.
