CITY TREASURER
SUMMARY:
The City Council is asked to consider Resolution No. 13 -38 appointing the Finance
Director as the Interim City Treasurer.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council adopt Resolution No. 13 -38 appointing the Finance Director as the
Interim City Treasurer.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact for the designation of the Finance Director as the Interim City
Treasurer.
DISCUSSION:
With the death of George Jeffries, the City's appointed City Treasurer, it is recommended
that the Council appoint the Finance Director to serve as the Interim City Treasurer until
the City Council appoints a permanent City Treasurer. The Tustin City Code designates
the City Treasurer as the individual charged with investing surplus funds, so it is important
that the position not remain vacant for a significant period of time. Staff will be available
to answer any questions.
