INCREASE FOR PART TIME SALARY SCHEDULE
SUMMARY: Resolution No. 99-69 which increases the part time salary schedule
equivalent to that received by other general employees is recommended for
Council approval.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council adopt Resolution No. 99-69 to provide a cost of living increase to
the part time salary schedule of 2% as granted to other general employees of the City.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The annual cost of this increase is approximately $9,600. Part time employees do not
receive any benefits other than those required by federal or state law.
BACKGROUND:
All full time employees and part time employees who are in classifications equivalent to
full time jobs received a 2% cost of living increase at the beginning of the year. Those
employees whose pay is derived from the part time salary schedule did not receive any
increase. In order to be consistent and be able to retain qualified part time staff, the
equivalent amount of increase as received by full time staff is recommended.
