Resignation From Planning Commission
Dear Mayor Saltareili:
In January, 1999, I accepted an offer of employment from the Irvine Ranch
Water District (IRWD) in the position of General Manager. The position
provides me the opportunity to manage a premier water utility in close proximity
to my home. My first day of employment with IRWD is February 25, 1999.
As you know, IRWD serves a significant portion of the City of Tustin, and there
are numerous water service issues that will be emerging between IRWD and the
City in the future. My interest is to ensure that no actual or perceived conflicts
occur as a result of my employment as General Manager of IRWD and my
service as a Planning Commissioner for the City.
After consultation with counsel and members of the IRWD Board, I have
concluded that it would be in both the City's and the District's best interest for
me to resign from the Planning Commission. My last meeting will be February
22, 1999.
I wanted to take this opportunity to express gratitude to both you and the City
Council for supporting my appointment. I also want to thank my fellow
Commissioners and City staff for their efforts to assist me during my tenure on
the Planning Commission.
It is my sincerest hope that as General Manager of IRWD, I will be able to
continue to provide service to the citizens of the City of Tustin.
Sincerely,
Paul D~
CC.
