PROGRESS REPORT: CEDAR GROVE PARK (PROJECT NO. 400041) AND
FIERITAGE PARK (PROJECT NO. 400042)
RECOMMENDATION:

BACKGROUND:
The City Council has requested monthly progress reports on the status of Cedar Grove and Heritage
Parks. As of this date the parks are proceeding as follows:
Cedar Grove Park .(Project No. 400041)
Notice of Completion was authorized by the City Council at the September 21, 1998 City Council
Meeting. The project is 100% complete, the punchtist inspection has been corr?leted, and the 90-clay
maintenance period has expired. The park is currently under a one-year warranty for certain amenities,
in conformance with the original contract
Cedar Grove Park hosted its first Concert in the Park on Sunday, October 4, 1998.
This will be the final progress report on Cedar Grove Park.
Heritage Park .(Project No. 400042)
The overall project is 95% complete.
· The hockey rink and perimeter fencing are 100% complete.
· The restroom building is 98% complete, with final painting still necessary.
· Irrigation mainline is 100% complete. Valves and irrigation laterals are 100% complete.
· Tot lot apparatus is 90% complete, with minor modifications still necessary for two pieces of
equipment.
· The robber matting in the tot lot was installed the week of October 11 ~.
· Tree planting is 98% complete, and shrub planting is 95% complete.
· The group picnic pads are 100% poured, and tables have been set.
· Hydro seeding is scheduled for Monday, October 19~.
Park dedication is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 1998, at 11:00 a.m A flier is attached to the staff
report.

ROLLER HOCKEY
Hockey lessons and a variety of
fun contests, with and without
skates, will begin at 1.1:00 a.m.
Contest winners will receive a
special award. Adults, children
and seniors are invited to partic-
ipate. A youth hockey demon-
stration will begin at 12:45 p.m.
Hockey activity coordinated by .

lnline Hockey and Sports Club of
Tustin.
FAMILY FUN
Family fun will be the focus of
activity on the basketball
courts. Beginning at 13:00
a.m., games and contests invlov-
lng parents and their children
will be featured. Winners of
the balloon toss, free throw con-
test and fun relays will receive
an award from the Mayor. Fam-
ily activity coordinated and led
by City Recreation Staff.
YOUNG cHILDREN
Ahoy mates! A pirate craft
preject and treasure hunt will
be held in the playground '
area. Activites for children
ages 3-7 begin at 11:00 a.m.
Craft teacher extraordinaire,
Debbie Bowler and City
Recreation Staff have
planned a program to keep
your child enthused and
amused through 12:30 p.m.
Refreshments will be served and formal park dedication'
proceedings will begin at 12:30 p.m.
