SUBJECT:
WILLIAM A. HUSTON
PERSONNEL SERVICES
LEAVE OF ABSENCE- WILLIAM MCKEAGUE
-day lea
Treatment Plant Operator.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council authorize a leave of absence be granted to William McKeague for
90 days as recommended by the Director of Public Works/City Engineer.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact of authorizing this leave is negligible at this time since one position
has been added which has just been filled. The 90-day time period of the leave will
allow the City to conduct a recruitment and have candidates ready to fill the additional
position if Mr. McKeague does not return to the position.
BACKGROUND:
Mr. McKeague had originally requested a seven-month leave of absence for personal
reasons that the Public Works Director did not authorize due to hardship on the
department; The 90-day leave will be a more reasonable period of time that the
department can accommodate without undue hardship. The City Council, per citY
Rules and Regulations, must approve any leave of absence over 30 days.
