PROGRESS REPORT ON CEDAR GROVE PARK (PROJECT NO. 400041)
AND ItERITAGE PARK (PROJECT NO. 400042)
RECOMMENDATION:
Receive and file.
BACKGROUND:
The City Council has requested monthly progress reports on the status of Heritage
Park and Cedar Grove Park. As of this date, the parks are proceeding as follows:
Cedar Grove Park (Project No. 400041)
The project is approximately 100% complete. All that remains is completion of the
punchlist inspection, re-circuiting of the flagpole light circuits (to leave flagpole
lights on all night), repair of the drinking fountain, irrigation repairs, and remainder
of 90-day maintenance period.
Heritage Park (Project No. 400042]
The overall project is 15% complete.
1. Rough grading is complete.
2. Slabs for the basketball court, restroom building, and roller hockey rink are
poured.
3. Underground utilities serving the restroom building are installed.
4. Progress has been slow due to E1Nifio rains. Project is approximately 52 days
delayed due to rain.
5. Three change orders have been issued to date, with a combined total value of
$29,144. The cost of these change orders are well below the Construction
Contingency budget allocation for this project.
.
There is an excess of dirt that needs to be exported from the site; approximately
3,000 cubic yards. Most of it is due to spoils from adjacent construction projects
placed on the portion of the property which was purchased to increase the size of
the park to its current acreage. The Contractor has found a source for the export,
and the City will only need to pay the labor cost for loading, and the related
additional grading.
