HomeMy WebLinkAbout06 PROJECT 400042 05-18-98AfiFNnA DATE: May 18, 1998 NO. 6 TO: FROM: SUBJECT: WILLIAM ~ HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PATRICK SANCHEZ, DIRECTOR, PARKS AND RECREATION SERVICES PROGRESS REPORT ON CEDAR GROVE PARK (PROJECT NO. 400041) AND HERITAGE PARK (PROJECT NO. 400042) RECOMMENDATION; Receive and file. BACKGROUND: The City Council has requested monthly progress repOrts on the status of Heritage Park and Cedar Grove Park. As of this date, the parks are proceeding as follows: Cedar Grove Park (Proiect No. 400041}, The park was officially dedicated on April 15a to over 200 participants. The representatives of the Flores family were also present for the dedication of a plaque in memory of Mr. Guillermo Flores. The project is substantially complete, with the exception of the following. · All turf areas are planted and approximately 60 days are remaining in the 90-day maintenance period. · The restroom building, playground and tot lot areas are open to the public. · Punchlist work is in progress, which includes the repair of some sprinklers, concrete work and fencing. · An additional picnic table will be added to the picnic shelter, adjustments to walkway fights and sprinkler timers are in progress. Heritage Park (Project No. 400042) · Rough grading is 90% complete. · Over excavation of building pad is complete. · Bottom grade of over excavation of hockey rink is complete and certified. · Underground drainage system is 95% complete. · Underground electrical system to the building is 100% complete. · Footings for the restroom building are in progress, and the foundation will be poured the week of May 18~. · . Underground utilities within the restroom building are complete. · The basketball court is read~ for the steel overlay, and the concrete will be poured'the week of May 18~. · Progress has been slow due to E1Nifio rains. The project is approximately 45- 47 days delayed due to the rains this winter. Substantial completion is currently scheduled for mid-August 1998.
