AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT
(C.I.P. NO. 600137)
SUMMARY I
This action is a request for authorization to award a construction contract for replacement of
deteriorating and undersized water mains at various locations listed below.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Tustin City Council, at their regular meeting of April 20, 1998, award the
contract for the subject project to John T. Malloy, Inc. of Los Angeles, California, in the amount of
S312,054.64.
FISCAL IMPACT
The amount of this contract is $312,054.64. There is currently $444,880 remaining in the FY 1997/98
Water Service Capital Improvement Program budget allocated for completion of this project.

Bids were opened on April 7, 1998 for subject project and 10 bids were.received as follows'

DISCUSSION
This project consists of the replacement of water mains on Lemona Lane southerly of La Colina Drive;
Windsor Place between Vanderlip and 17th Street; Cameron Lane southerly of Vanderlip Avenue; Ehlen
Way, Brenan Way, Harp Court, Manning Drive northerly of Warren Avenue and Fairmount Way
southerly of Fairhaven Avenue. These water mains will improve water system supply and circulation
and reduce maintenance and repair costs in these areas.
Following is the anticipated schedule for completion of the project:
