SUBJECT: ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 13 -83 TO ACCEPT IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE
RAWLINGS RESERVOIR REPLACEMENT — PHASE II CONSTRUCTION
PROJECT CIP 60136 AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY ENGINEER TO FILE A
NOTICE OF COMPLETION
SUMMARY
Construction of the Rawlings Reservoir Replacement — Phase II Construction Project CIP 60136
has been completed to the satisfaction of the City Engineer and is now ready for City Council
acceptance.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council take the following actions:
1. Adopt Resolution No. 13 -83 accepting the construction of the Rawlings Reservoir
Replacement — Phase II Construction Project CIP 60136; and
Authorize the City Engineer to execute and file the Notice of Completion with the Orange
County Recorder's Office.
FISCAL IMPACT
The final construction cost for the Rawlings Reservoir Replacement — Phase II Construction Project
CIP 60136 is $10,797,920, including authorized contract change orders in the amount of $15,500
or 0.14 %. Sufficient funds were budgeted and appropriated in the Fiscal Year 2011 -2012 Capital
Improvement Program for this work which is funded by the 2011 Water Revenue Bonds.
CORRELATION TO THE STRATEGIC PLAN
Replacement of the reservoir contributes to the fulfillment of the City's Strategic Plan Goal B:
Public Safety and Protection of Assets. Specifically, the project implements Strategy #3, which
among other items, is to ensure continuous maintenance and improvement of public facilities.
DISCUSSION
The Rawlings Reservoir Phase II project included construction of two (2) 3.0 MG pre- stressed
concrete tanks, off -site drain line along Foothill Boulevard, yard piping, earthwork, grading,
electrical, instrumentation, landscaping, and irrigation improvements.

The Phase II Construction Project is deemed complete to the satisfaction of the City Engineer and
is now ready for City Council acceptance.

RESOLUTION NO. 13 -83
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE WORKS OF IMPROVEMENT AND
AUTHORIZING THE RECORDATION OF THE NOTICE OF
COMPLETION FOR THE RAWLINGS RESERVOIR REPLACEMENT -
PHASE II CONSTRUCTION PROJECT CIP NO. 60136
WHEREAS, Pacific Hydrotech Corporation, having a contract with the City of
Tustin to construct the hereinafter described public works and improvement; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has duly certified to the construction and
completion of said public improvement hereinafter mentioned in a manner satisfactory
to the City Council of the City of Tustin; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said contractor has completed said public
improvement hereinafter more particularly described in accordance with the provisions
of the contract documents and the Notice of Completion, and acceptance of said public
works and improvement should be filed and payment of the balance due said contract
authorized in accordance with the contract documents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tustin
that said public works and improvement is found to be complete, and the same is
hereby accepted. Said public works and improvement is more particularly described as
follows:
Rawlings Reservoir Replacement — Phase II Construction Project
CIP No. 60136
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer of the City of Tustin is
hereby authorized to execute and file a Notice of Completion for the acceptance of said
public works and improvement described herein as required by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Tustin held on the 15t day of October 2013.
