HUSTON, CITY MANAGER OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AGENCY GROUP AUTHORITY, JOINT Attached is a letter from the Orange County Transportation Authority reporting the establishment of a Joint Agency Group (JAG) to study conceptual engineering for an urban rail line in the 28-mile corridor from the City of Irvine to the City of Fuilerton. Each Orange County city has been invited to appoint a Councilmember to serve on JAG. Mayor Thomas has requested this matter be agendized for City Council discussion. Box 1089 Tustin, CA 92781-1089 Dear Mayor Thomas: The Orange County Transportation Authority has initiated detailed conceptual engineering for an urban rail line in the 28-mile corridor that runs from Irvine to Fullerton. This phase of the project will determine, a final route, location of stations, and the system technology. In order to involve Orange County cities in this effort, OCTA is establishing a Joint Agency Group (JAG) to discuss the engineering study as it progresses. Each Orange County city is invited to appoint a councilmember to participate on the JAG. ltis anticipated that a subcommittee of the seven cities within the 28- mile corridor will meet more frequently to interact with OCTA on the policy level as the study progresses. The full JAG will meet three times over the next two years to review project milestones. Please confirm your current representative to the previous Corridor Elected Officials group or appoint a councilmember to participate in the JAG. Our first meeting is scheduled to take place at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, May 7 in room 103 of the OCTA offices at 600 S. Main in Orange.
