Huston, City Manager Parks and Recreation Services PROGRESS REPORT ON CEDAR GROVE PARK (PROJECT NO. 400041) AND HERITAGE PARK (PROJECT NO 400042) RECOMMENDATION: Receive and Me. BACKGROUND: The City Council has requested monthly progress reports on the stares of Heritage Park and Cedar Grove Park. As of this date, the parks are proceeding as follows: Cedar Grove Park (Project No. 400041 ) The overall project is approximately 90% complete. Some details ofthe work are as follows: 1. Restroom building is 99% complete.. 2. Underground utilities are complete. 3. Irrigation piping and control wiring is complete. 4. Concrete curbs and asphalt paving for the parking lot are complete. 5. Concrete curbs and walks at the three playground areas are complete. 6. Playground equipmem is complete. 7. Wood fencing is complete. . The basketball court and picnic area slabs are poured; trellis columns and main beams are complete. 9.' The streambed/water feature is 95% complete. 10. Soil amendments are complete. 11. Trees are 95% planted. 12. The project is about 6-8 weeks behind the original schedule due to thirty days of rain delay and field conditions, and 2-3 weeks of additional work. It is tentatively anticipated that perimeter landscaping, building and playground facilities could be completed by late April 1998 if there are no further weather delays. Due.to wet weather, availability of stolons for the playing fields is delayed until late April, provided there is no additional rain delay, which will cause the 90-day maintenance period to run through the end of July. Heritage Park (Project No. 400042) 1. The contract was awarded to Valley Crest Landscape in the amount of $1,413,628. 2. Clearing and field prep started the week of January 5~. Earthwork is in progress, but has been hampered by wet weather. 3. Rain has held up the progress of the work on-site. Meanwhile, submittals have been forwarded by the contractor to expedite material acquisition. 4. The building permit has been issued.
