AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR ANNUAL SIDEWALK AND CURB AND GUTTER
REPAIR PROJECT, FY 1997-98 (PROJECT NO. 4020-6235)
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of January 5, 1998, award the subject contract to Vart
Construction in the amount of $158,557.00 and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the comract documents
on behalf of the City.
FISCAL IMPACT
This project is funded in the 1997-98 FY Public Works Department Operating Budget (Account No. 010400-4020-
6235) with the amount of $235,000.00 This work is part of the City's on-going Maintenance of Effort requirements
for compliance with Measure M.

Bids for the subject project were opened December 2, 1997. There were nine (9) bids received and the results are as

This project will provide for the removal and replacement of Portland Cement concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter and
drive aprons to correct tripping hazards at approximately 390 locations throughout the City. The project also provides
for ADA improvements throughout the City, which is a result of resident requests and field safety reviews.
