HomeMy WebLinkAbout12 RESCHEDULE COMMISSION VACANCY INTERVIEWSAgenda Item 12 Reviewed: AGENDA REPORT City Manager Finance Director N/A MEETING DATE: FEBRUARY 4, 2014 TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: ERICA RABE, CITY CLERK SERVICES SUPERVISOR SUBJECT: RESCHEDULE THE DATE TO CONDUCT INTERVIEWS TO FILL VACANCIES ON THE PLANNING COMMISSION, COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION AND AUDIT COMMISSION SUMMARY: To allow additional time to receive a sufficient number of applications, staff is requesting that the City Council reschedule the date to conduct interviews to fill vacancies on the Planning Commission, Community Services Commission and Audit Commission. RECOMMENDATION: Pleasure of the City Council FISCAL IMPACT: None BACKGROUND: At the December 18, 2013 City Council meeting, Council scheduled the interviews for Tuesday, February 4, 2014. As of January 29, 2014, the City Clerk's Office received seven applications for the Planning Commission, six applications for the Community Services Commission and two applications for the Audit Commission. A public notice seeking candidates to serve on the commissions will continue to be published in the Tustin News. In addition, the City Clerk's Office will continue to a post notice on the City's website and posting boards. Due to the anticipation of receiving a considerable number of qualified applications, staff suggests the interviews for the Planning Commission be rescheduled for Tuesday, February 18, 2014, and the interviews for the Community Services Commission and Audit Commission be rescheduled for a later date.
