PROGRESS REPORT ON CEDAR GROVE PARK (PROJECT NO. 400041)
AND HERITAGE PARK (PROJECT NO 400042)
RECOMMENDATION:
Receive and file.
BACKGROUND:
The City Council has requested monthly progress reports on the status of Heritage
Park and Cedar Grove Park. As of this date, the parks are proceeding as follows:
Cedar Grove Park (project 400041)
The overall project is approximately 65% complete. Some details ofthe work are as
follows:
1. Restroom building is 80% complete.
2. Underground utilities are completed.
3. Irrigation piping and control wiring is 50-60% complete.
4. Concrete curbs' and asphalt paving for the parking lot are installed.
5. Concrete curbs and walks at the 3 playground areas are completed.
6. Playground equipment is 70% delivered; installation starts next week.
7. Wood fencing is in progress; 70% complete.
8. The basketball court and picnic area slabs are poured; trellis columns and main
beams are erected.
9. The stream bed/water feature is 50% complete.
10. The project is about 2-3 weeks behind the original schedule due to two (2) days of
rain delay and field conditions. The landscape, building and playground facilities
should be completed on schedule by the end of December. The open field and
amphitheater should be ready for use in spring 1998.
Heritage Park (Project No. 400042)
1. Bid opening was conducted on October 30, 1997. Valley Crest Landscape was the
apparent low bidder, with a base bid of $1,374,628.00.
2. Bid alternates A, B, and C total $39,900.00, for parallel parking on Kinsman Circle
and Heritage Way.
3. Staff issued a memo to the City Manager recommending City Council to authorize
the Bid Award to include the bid alternates.
