BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
The classification of Police Chief currently has a flat salary rate of $199,539 per year, the rate
paid to the former Police Chief and equivalent to the top step (Step F) of the previous salary
range. Staff recommends reinstituting a six -step salary range equal to the previous salary
range, from $155,627 per year to $199,539 per year (the current flat rate).
