APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE
FOR BIDS FOR THE "B' STREET AND "C' STREET RECONSTRUCTION BETWEEN
FIRST STREET AND IRVINE BOULEVARD (CIP Project No. 700151 ~nd No. 700150)
RECOMMENDATION.
It is recommended that the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of September 2, 1997, adopt Resolution No. 97-90
approving the plans and specifications for the "B" Street and "C" Street reconstruction between First Street and Irvine
Boulevard (CIP Project No. 700151 and No. 700150) and authorizing and dkecting the City Clerk to advertise for
bids.
FISCAL IMPACT..
The Engineer's construction estimate for this project is $304,346.00. The 1996-97 FY Capital Improvement Program
Budget provided $57,500 for the design of "B" Street and $42,500 for the design of"C" Street from CIP funds. The
1997-98 FY Capital Improvement program Budget allocates $242,500 for reconstruction of "B" Street and a
corresponding $234,000 for the reconstruction of "C" Street, both from Measure M Tumback funds.
BACKGROUND
This project provides for the reconstruction of the existing street pavement, curb, gutter, sidewalk and driveway
entrances, along with the replacement of certain overgrown parkway trees and the addition of decorative residential
street fighting along both affected streets.
A public workshop was held and an informational packet was mailed to the local residems advising them of the project
scope, the impact on the trees and the tentative project schedule.
