RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the Tustin City Council, at their regular meeting of September 2, 1997, adopt Resolution No. 97-84 accepting said work and authorizing the recordation of the Notice of Completion. Assuming no claims or stop paymem notices are filed, it is further recommended that the City Council authorize paymem of the 10°,4 retention amoum of $11,001.50, thirty-five days after the date of recordation of the Notice of Completion. This amount, together with previous payments of $99,013.50 represents 100°,4 of the final contract. Included in this amount is approximately $31,300 in Caltrans initiated Contract Change Orders (CCO's) which will be reimbursed 100% by Caltrans. * Includes a 100% reimburmble $3,500 Caltrans CCO. ** Includes Design, Constn~on, Project Administration, and work by City forces on all Phases. BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION . The Santa Clara Avenue water main is the third and final phase of a three-phased project that was begun and budgeted for as a CIP in Fiscal Year 1995/96. Fairhaven Avenue, the first phase, is complete; and minor work by City forces on 17th Street, the second phase, will be completed within a month. Through a utility agreement approved by City Council on June 19, 1995, Caltrans will be reimbursing the City for 78.2% of the project cost. Due to the complexity of this work, several Caltrans CCO's totaling approximately $31,300 were necessary. These CCO's are responsible for the project cost overran and will be reimbursed 100°,4 by Caltrans. These new mains will help to provide a more substantial water supply and circulation, and will provide for furore needs in these areas. Michael Martin Water 'ServiCes Engineer 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 2.3 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 97-84 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE WORKS OF IMPROVEMENT AND AUTHORIZING RECORDATION OF NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE · WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT ON SANTA CLARA AVENUE AT SR-55 FREEWAY (PROJECT NO. 600127) WHEREAS, Valverde ConstruCtion, Inc., having a contract with the City of Tustin to construct the hereinafter described public work and improvement; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has duly certified to the construction and completion of said public improvements hereinafter mentioned in a manner satisfactory to the City Council of the City of Tustin; and WHEREAS, the City Council' finds that said contractor has completed, said public improvement hereinafter more particularly described in accordance with the provisions of the contract documents and the Notice of Completion, and acceptance of said public work and improvement should be filed and payment of the balance due said contract authorized in accordance with the contract documents; -.. NOW, THEREFORE., BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tustin that said public work and improvement is found to be complete, and the same is hereby accepted. Said public work and improvement is more particularly described as follows: Water Main Replacement on Santa Clara Avenue at SR-55 Freeway (Project No. 600127) BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer of the City of · TUstin is hereby authorized to execute and file a Notice of Completion for the acceptance of said public works and improvement described herein as required by law.
