TUSTIN SPORTS PARK TENNIS COURTS
RECOMMENDATION:
Receive and File
BACKGROUND:
The tennis courts at the Tustin Sports Park are often used to capacity. Individuals who are waiting for
an available court are directed (by the posted court regulations) to hang their racquets on a waiting
board for the first available court.
Through several observations, it is evident that the tennis waiting board is not being utilized.
Furthermore, individuals who are on the courts are not abiding by the posted 1-hour time limit for
singles and the 1-hour 30 minute time limit for doubles.
It is recommended that new regulations be posted, and a sign-in process be implemented to insure fair
and equitable usage by the public. It is proposed that court users sign in on a court list indicating their
start and finish time of court usage. Those waiting for a court will sign in on a waiting court list, which
will insure a first-come, first-serve process of use.
After six months of utilization, the proposed court regulations will be evaluated and a report will be
forwarded to the City Council
