APPOINTMENT OF NEW ~MBER FOR TUSTIN PUBLIC INFORMATION, INC.
SUMMARY: The Community Services Department recommends appointment of a new member to
fill a vacancy on the Tustin Public Information, Inc. Board of Directors.
RECOMMENDATION:

Remove Susan Jones, former Recreation Superintendent and Christine Carpenter, former Recreation
Coordinator in Community Services, from Tustin Public Information, Inc. Board of Directors. Both
have resigned fi.om the City.
2. Appoint Nanette Turner, Recreation Coordinator as a Board Member of Tustin Public Information,
Inc. Nanette fills the vacancy in Community Services created when Christine Carpenter resigned.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no additional expense to the City. All Board Members serve without compensation.
BACKGROUND:
In 1994, Tustin Public Information, Inc. (TPI), was formed to provide the non-profit bulk mailing rate for
the Tustin Today, the City's quarterly recreation brochure and newsletter. TPI meets annually to review
costs related to postage and production of the brochure and to recommend any changes. The next meeting
is scheduled for May 20, 1997.
The current Board of Directors consists of Gary Magill, Ronald Nault and Larry Schutz. With her talents
and skills in brochure production, Nanette Turner is an appropriate choice to serve as a Board Member.
