RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council authorize the City Manager to sign the Memorandum of Understanding
with the Tustin Police Officers Association, Management Unit which is a one year agreement
expiring on December 3 l, 1997.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Police Lieutenants salary increase for the five positions amounts to $17,550 annually and for the
twelve Sergeants amounts to $48,624 annually for a total of $66,174. In addition, language for
this unit was changed so that employees are guaranteed the ability to cash out excess general
leave to a maximum of 80 hours if the employee has six or more years of service. The
maximum cost of this benefit for Lieutenants is $15,350 and $31,548 for Sergeants, totaling
$46,898.
BACKGROUND:
The City met and conferred with representatives of the Police Management Unit to arrive at this
one' year agreement.
