DISCUSSION
The project replaced/upgraded the existing asphalt concrete Class I off-road bicycle trail with a

and south of Irvine Boulevard. The project included removal of existing improvements;
construction of a new 10 foot wide PCC bicycle trail; construction of a new 6 foot wide PCC
sidewalk adjacent to the curb; installation of a landscape strip between the bicycle trail and
sidewalk with an automatic irrigation system; enlargement of existing tree wells; replacement of
trees; replacement of existing curb ramps to be in compliance with current federal Americans with
Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements; and replacement of striping and pavement markings.
