SUBJECT: ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 14 -56 TO ACCEPT IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE
ENDERLE CENTER DRIVE AND VANDENBERG LANE INTERSECTION
ENHANCEMENTS PROJECT (CIP 40078)
SUMMARY
Construction of the Enderle Center Drive and Vandenberg Lane Intersection Enhancements
Project (CIP 40078) has been completed to the satisfaction of the City Engineer and the project is
now ready for City Council acceptance.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council:
Adopt Resolution No. 14 -56 accepting the construction of the Enderle Center Drive and
Vandenberg Lane Intersection Enhancements Project (CIP 40078); and
Authorize the City Engineer to execute and file the Notice of Completion with the County
Recorder's Office.
FISCAL IMPACT
The construction budget for the Enderle Center Drive and Vandenberg Lane Intersection
Enhancements Project (CIP 40078) was $175,000. The final construction cost for this project is
$174,925. The project was funded through a combination of sources that included State
Proposition 1B SLPP Formula Grant funds, matching dollar- for - dollar Measure M1 Turnback / M2
Fair Share funds, and Assembly Bill 2766 Motor Vehicle Registration Subvention funds.
CORRELATION TO THE STRATEGIC PLAN
The safety enhancements contribute to the fulfillment of the City's Strategic Plan Goal B: Public
Safety and Protection of Assets. Specifically, the project implements Strategy #3(b), which among
other items, is to ensure improvement of traffic control facilities.
DISCUSSION
The safety improvements at the intersection
consisted of construction of a planter island o
curb; installation of landscaping and irrigation
trees and shrubs; removal and replacement
intersection to be in compliance with curre

striping, and pavement markings to transitio n
island: elimination of the crosswalk
of Enderle Center Drive and Vandenberg Lane
n the south side of the tee intersection with raised
in the planter island, consisting of heavily planted
of the curb ramp at the northwest corner of the

Construction of the project is deemed complete to the satisfaction of the City Engineer and is now
ready for City Council acceptance.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING THE WORKS OF IMPROVEMENT AND
AUTHORIZING THE RECORDATION OF THE NOTICE OF
COMPLETION FOR THE ENDERLE CENTER DRIVE AND
VANDENBERG LANE INTERSECTION ENHANCEMENTS PROJECT
(CIP 40078)
WHEREAS, Sequel Contractors, Inc., having a contract with the City of Tustin to
construct the hereinafter described public works and improvement; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has duly certified to the construction and
completion of said public improvement hereinafter mentioned in a manner satisfactory
to the City Council of the City of Tustin; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said contractor has completed said public
improvement hereinafter more particularly described in accordance with the provisions
of the contract documents and the Notice of Completion, and acceptance of said public
works and improvement should be filed and payment of the balance due said contract
authorized in accordance with the contract documents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Tustin
that said public works and improvement is found to be complete, and the same is
hereby accepted.
Said public works and improvement . is more particularly described as follows:
Enderle Center Drive and Vandenberg Lane Intersection Enhancements Project
(CIP 40078)
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer of the City of Tustin is
hereby authorized to execute and file a Notice of Completion for the acceptance of said
public works and improvement described herein as required by law.
