HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC RES 3733 RESOLUTION NO. 3733 :Z A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE 3 CITY OF TUSTIN, RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY COUNCIL APPROVE GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 99-003, AMENDING 4 THE GENERAL PLAN LAND USE DESIGNATION FROM PROFESSIONAL OFFICE TO COMMUNITY COMMERCIAL ON 5 A .52 ACRE VACANT LOT LOCATED AT 17241 IRVINE BOULEVARD. ? The Planning Commission does hereby resolve as follows: 8 I. The Planning Commission finds and determines as follows: 9 A. That a proper application for General Plan Amendment 99-003 to amend the General Plan Land Use Designation of .52 acre vacant ~0 parcel located adjacent at 17241 Irvine Boulevard adjacent to the SR-55 freeway. 1] B. That a public hearing was duly called, noticed and held on said ~2 application on June 12, 2000 by the Planning Commission. ~3 C. That General Plan Amendment 99-003 is Consistent with and ~4 implements the following policies of the General Plan: ~5 1) Policy 1.3 Facilitate the development of vacant and underutilized freeway parcels with commercial uses where ~6 appropriate and compatible with surrounding uses to capitalize on their freeway access and visibility. ]? ~s 2) Policy 1.6 Encourage compatible and complementary infill of previously by-passed parcels in areas already ~9 predominantly developed. 20 3) Policy 2.2 Maintain consistency between the Land Use Element, Zoning Ordinances, and other City ordinances, 2~ regulations and stahdards. a D That the proposed amendments are in the best interest of the public 23 and ensure consistency between the General Plan and the Zoning Ordinance. 24 E A Final Negative Declaration has been prepared and recommended 25 for certification for this project in accordance with the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). 26 II. The Planning Commission hereby recommends that the City Council 27 approve General Plan Amendment 99-003, amending the General Plan Land Use Designation of the subject property from "Professional Office" to 28 "Community Commercial", identified in Exhibit A attached hereto. 29 Resolution No. 3733 Page 2 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Planning Commission of the City of Tustin, at a 4 regular meeting on the 12th day of June, 2000. ?
