DISCUSSION The contract for this project was originally awarded to Intersection Maintenance Service (I.M.S.). However, during the project I.M.S. filed for bankruptcy and went out of business. At that point the surety company, Safeco Insurance Company, took over the contract and procured the services of Steiny and Company for the completion of the work. This caused a delay in the project completion; however, all work on this project has been completed to the satisfaction of Public Works Department/Engineering Division. The final contract amount for this project was $394,164.86. This amount is $89.64 below the original contract amount of $394,254.50. The project was funded by the 1991-92 Capital Improvement Budget.
