TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL
FRONT: WILLIAM A. HUSTON, CITY MANAGER
SUBJECT: POLICY REGARDING CITY COUNCIL EXPENDITURES
Mayor Pro Tem Potts requested that the City Council consider adoption of
a policy requiring the City Council's formal approval for any item of
expense not already authorized to all members of the City Council.
Attached is a draft resolution that would implement such a policy. The
resolution provides that any request made by a Councilmember for an item
that is not provided for in the annual budget, or otherwise authorized
for all Councilmembers, must be formally approved by the City Council.
