Thompson Thompson requested clarification from legal counsel on the actions taken •
the California Federal Political Practices Commission (FPPC) report regarding
Commissioners Altowaui and Thompson's participation with the action of the
item and whether or not there would be a conflict of interest.
Bobak In response to Thompson's request, Bobak provided background information
on the City's inquiry to the FPPC requesting advice, on regulations relating to
members of governing agencies participation when they have a financial
interest in the regulations being adopted and whether the regulations would
affect their property (home or business) owned by either the public official or
member of the public official's family. In May 2014, the FPPC gave advice
stating Altowalji and Thompson did not have a conflict of interest because
there was no reasonable foreseeability that the CDG would have a material or
financial effect on properties they own.
Altowaiji Altowalji commented on the FPPC's advice to legal counsel and was in
support of the item.
Smith Smith asked staff if the CDG were presented to MIG, and was also in support
