HUSTON, CITY MANAGER CONSENT CALENDAR NO. 8 5-18-92 Inter -Com FROM: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUBJECT: QUITCLAIM OF UTILITY EASEMENTS - IRVINE BOULEVARD RECOMMENDATION That the City Council approve the quitclaim deed for sanitary sewer and storm drain easements within the previously vacated segments of Irvine Boulevard westerly of Jamboree Road and authorize the Mayor to execute said deed on behalf of the City. BACKGROUND In 1987, the County of Orange vacated a portion of the original Irvine Boulevard alignment westerly of Jamboree Road. At that time there was no sanitary sewer or storm drain facilities within the vacated roadway right-of-way. The vacated portion of Irvine Boulevard has since been incorporated into a condominium development (Tract No. 13746) at the northwesterly corner of Irvine Boulevard and Jamboree Road. The reservation for the sanitary sewer and storm drain facilities were inadvertently included on the final Tract Map No. 12870 at the request of the County of Orange. DISCUSSION All sanitary sewer and storm drain facilities have been constructed within the realigned portion of Irvine Boulevard as a part of the East Tustin Development of Tracts No. 12763 and 12870. These recently constructed facilities eliminate the need to maintain the easements within the vacated portions of Irvine Boulevard. The attached deed quitclaims the City the easement rights for both sanitary sewer and storm drain facilities to The Irvine Company. It is requested that the City Council approve this quitclaim deed and authorize the Mayor to execute said deed on behalf of the City. 2et!�� 34ez� a4-e� Robert S.
