' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF
A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT
FOR THE ARTS FOR THE OUR TOWN PROGRAM
The City Council of the City of Tustin does hereby resolve as follows:
The City Council finds and determines as follows:
A. That the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) has a program, called
"Our Town," that provides grants for creative place making projects that
help to make communities more lively, beautiful and resilient, with arts at
their core.
B. That on August 5, 2014, the City Council approved the Program
Guidelines for the Tustin Pioneers Recognition Program. This Program
would enable community organizations -and individuals to honor Tustin
Pioneers by providing funding for life size bronze busts and plaques that
would be placed on pedestals in public locations.
' C. That public art, such as the bronze busts proposed by the Tustin Pioneers
Recognition Program, is one of the art projects that is eligible for grant
funding through the "Our Town" Program.
D. That the City of Tustin desires to apply for an "Our Town" Program grant in
the amount of $25,000 to partly fund the first phase consisting of three (3)
bronze busts for the Tustin Pioneers Recognition Program.
E. That the proposed grant amount of $25,000 requires an equivalent match of
$25,000. The match may be in cash and /or in -kind contributions and may
be provided through outside sources, including nonprofit organizations,
businesses, and /or individuals.
F. That all applications for the "Our Town" Program must be submitted by
partnerships that involve two primary partners: a nonprofit organization,
and a local governmental entity, one of which must be a cultural (arts or
design) organization. The City will need to partner with a nonprofit cultural
arts or design organization prior to the January 15, 2015, application
deadline.

II. The City of Tustin is hereby authorized and directed to apply for and submit to '
the NEA the required application for the "Our Town" Program Grant, in the
amount of $25,000.
111. The City Council authorizes the Director of Community Development to execute
in the name of the City of Tustin the "Our Town" Program Application Package.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tustin, at a regular
meeting on the 16th day of December, 2014.
