RECOMMENDATION

BACKGROUND
This contract will provide complete landscape and irrigation
improvements at Location I and will complete the landscape and
irrigation improver..ents at Location II. The landscape and
irrigation improvements at Location I were deleted, by City Staff,
from a landscape contract that the City had in 1988 for the
followings reasons:
° The develcpment of the Tustin Market Place (Phase II)
required a nedian modification/opening at the West Street
access point. This access has now been finalized.
° The Irvine Company had planned on relocating the
homefindiny center from its present location to the
easterly side of Jamboree Road opposite E1 Camino Real
which would have required median modifications to provide
left turn. lanes. This relocation has since been
abandoned 'cy the company.
At Location II a small portion of the center median landscaping was
deleted from a landscape contract that the City had in 1990. This
was done at the request of the developer of Tract No. 13908, which
is located along the northerly side of La Colina Drive, and was
also approved by the City Council at their meeting of December 17,
1990. At that ti -.e :he developer intended on utilizing the
emergency access ease—me7t for construction related traffic to and
from La Colina Drive. 'I -:e developer no longer intends on utilizing
this access and there lore the median island landscaping can now be
completed.
The estimated cost is as follows:
Location I .............................$30,639
Location II ............................$ 6,285
TOTAL $36,924
