AWARD OF BID FOR MISCELLANEOUS FURNITURE FOR POLICE FACILITY
RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the purchase of miscellaneous furniture for the police
facility from California Business Interiors in the amount of
$50,550.95.
BACKGROUND
The City Council at a regular meeting on March 16, 1992 authorized
the advertisement of bids for certain miscellaneous furniture for
the police facility which is currently under construction and
expected to be completed in approximately four (4) months.
Costs for purchase of the advertised items have been included in
the 11.1 million dollar budget for the entire Civic Center
Expansion Project.
Bids for the miscellaneous advertised furniture items were opened
on April 15, 1992, at 10:00 a.m. Bids were received as follows:

G -West Brooks, Inc. $54,961.28
Western Corporate Images $50,791.99
California Business Interiors $50,550.95
Based on submitted bids, California Business Interiors is the
lowest bid at $50,550.95. Staff have checked references and find
that California Business Interiors is a reputable firm. In
addition, they are the firm who have the awarded contract on the
County Cooperative Purchasing Program for Steelcase product which
was authorized to be purchased by the City Council on March 16,
1992.
