SUBJECT: AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR WATER MAIN RELOCATION ON NISSON ROAD

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of
April 6, 1992, award the contract to Noriega Pipeline, Rancho
Cucamonga, in the amount of $88,482.75 for the subject project.
BACKGROUND
Ten (10) bids were received on March 26, 1992 and are summarized as
follows:

The low bid includes $7,600.00 for street light conduit
installation as budgeted for and approved by the Tustin Community
Redevelopment Agency on December 13, 1991. Street lights will be
installed after the street improvements are completed on Nisson
Road.
The low bid is 41.0% below the engineer's estimate of $149,982.20.
The current budget provides $500,400.00 for water main relocations
prompted by Caltrans freeway widening Stage III. The amount of
$407,315.77 has been previously allocated for the water main
relocations in E1 Camino Way, Main Street at I-5 Freeway, and Main
Street at SR -55 Freeway.
