SUBJECT: FREEWAY CONSTRUCTION STATUS REPORT
RECOMMENDATION
Receive and file.
BACKGROUND
Following information relates to both freeway and local street closures as
they relate to the Tustin area.
• Route 55 northbound off -ramp to Irvine Boulevard/4th Street tentatively
scheduled to open mid-December, 1992.
° Route 55 southbound on-ramp from Irvine Boulevard/4th Street to open in
late April, 1992 for a period of three months during reconstruction of
Seventeenth Street southbound on-ramp to Route 55.*
° Route 55 southbound on-ramp from Seventeenth Street to close for three
months from late April, 1992 to late July, 1992 for reconstruction.
° Route 55 southbound on-ramp from Irvine Boulevard/4th Street to re -close
after the opening of the Seventeenth Street southbound ramps in late
July, 1992 for a period of one year.
° Main Street closure No. 1 between Williams Street and driveway of St.
Jeannes School tentatively scheduled between mid-April, 1992 and early
1993.
° Main Street closure No. 2 between Myrtle Avenue and Stoneglass
tentatively scheduled between early -1993 and late -1993 (7 months). This
closure will not be implemented until closure No. 1 is opened to
traffic.
° First Street bridge across Route 55 is scheduled for opening March,
1993.
• Nisson Road was closed to through traffic on March 18, 1992 for five
months. Local residential traffic can access from either "B" Street
from the east or Pasadena Avenue from the west.
° Red Hill Avenue between Nisson Road and El Camino Real is scheduled for
final paving and pavement marking by May 1, 1992.
The above schedule was furnished. by the Caltrans Resident Engineers and is
subject to weather conditions.
