FEBRUARY 18, 1992
TO: WILLIAM A. HUSTON, CITY MANAGER
FROM: OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK
SUBJECT: ESTABLISHING PRECINCTS, POLLING PLACES, PRECINCT BOARD
MEMBERS AND COMPENSATION FOR APRIL 1411992 ELECTION
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution No. 92-28 establishing voting precincts and
polling places; appointing precinct board members; and fixing
precinct/board member compensation for the General Municipal
Election to be held on Tuesday, April 14, 1992.
BACKGROUND:
Election Code Section 1638 requires the Office of the City
Clerk, not less than 29 days prior to an election, to adopt a
Resolution appointing members of the precinct boards and
designating the polling places.
For the General Municipal Election, to be held on Tuesday,
April 14, 1992, nineteen (19) precincts and polling sites have
been established (this is one additional precinct from the 1990
election due to growth in East Tustin). As a result of
reapportionment, the only significant change in precinct
alignments is the designation of the Marine Corps Air Station
as a separate precinct; it is no longer required to be joined
with Tustin Meadows as in previous years.
Compensation rates for polling sites and precinct board members
have been set in accordance with County rates.
Valerie Whiteman
Chief Deputy City Clerk
