REPLACEMENT (CIP 10032)
SUMMARY
The plans and specifications for the City Hall HVAC Replacement (CIP 10032) have been
prepared and the project is ready to be bid.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the City Council:
1. Adopt Resolution No. 15 -11 approving plans and specifications for the City Hall HVAC
Replacement (CIP 10032), and
2. Authorize the City Clerk to advertise to receive bids.
FISCAL IMPACT
The engineer's estimate for the work to be performed is $250,000. Sufficient funds have been
budgeted and appropriated in this Fiscal Year 2014 -2015 Capital Improvement Program for this
project.
CORRELATION TO THE STRATEGIC PLAN
The recommended actions contribute to the fulfillment of the City's Strategic Plan Goal B, Public
Safety and Protection of Assets.
DISCUSSION
Conditioned air at City Hall is currently provided by three (3) rooftop units ranging in size to meet
the needs of the various zones within the building. Each of the units are twenty -four years old and
have reached the end of their expected service life and are experiencing frequent failures. For
these reasons, Field Services staff is recommending they be replaced.
This project, as specified, will correct service deficiencies, reduce energy consumption, and lower
maintenance costs. The plans and specifications have been completed and this project is now
ready to advertise for bid.
